Gerontology
In 1954, Sigma Kappa became the first national sorority to recognize the need for continued, comprehensive work on the study of aging and the needs of the elderly populations. Collegiate and alumnae members throughout the country volunteer their time and talent in support for numerous projects to assist and benefit the elderly. Eta works with local nursing homes and assisted living centers to interact with the elderly population. Throughout the year, Eta visits local nursing homes to play games and make crafts. Recently, members also put on a fashion show of "Clothing Through the Decades" at a local nursing home.
